Peter W. Zuger

Peter Zuger is a distinguished trial lawyer with extensive courtroom and appellate experience. He is a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers, an honor limited to the top one percent of lawyers, a Fellow of the International Society of Barristers, an invitation only honorary society with limited membership, and a Fellow in the Litigation Counsel of America, reserved for less than one-half of one percent of attorneys nationwide.

Peter is a 2008 graduate of the University of North Dakota School of Law, where he graduated with distinction. While in law school, Peter was a member of the Board of Editors for the North Dakota Law Review, won UND’s Moot Court and Mock Trial competitions, and competed in a trial  competition hosted by the American College of Trial Lawyers.  Since law school, Peter has tried numerous cases before judges, juries, lawyer disciplinary hearing panels, and private arbitrators, successfully defending multi-million-dollar claims and securing significant verdicts, including an $8.5 million jury award in Lodholtz v. Continental Resources, Inc. He has also argued cases before the North Dakota Supreme Court, Minnesota Court of Appeals, the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Eighth Circuit Bankruptcy Appellate Panel.

In addition to his trial work, Peter served nine years on the North Dakota Pattern Jury Instruction Commission, including as chair, where he helped draft jury instructions used statewide. He frequently lectures on legal discipline and malpractice issues for professional organizations and law schools. His practice encompasses a wide range of litigation, including medical and legal malpractice defense, personal injury, insurance, commercial, corporate, products liability, employment, and construction litigation. Peter is also a qualified neutral and has served as a mediator over many disputes.
