Leah was born and raised in Hopkins, Minnesota. She received her Associate of Arts Degree in Architectural Drafting from North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton, North Dakota, her Bachelors Degree in Psychology from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and her Juris Doctor from William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota. While in law school, she worked for the Minnesota State Public Defender's Office and clerked for the Honorable Susanne Sedgwick of the Hennepin County District Court. After graduating from law school, Leah clerked for the Honorable William S. Posten of the Hennepin County District Court, and practiced criminal law and insurance defense until she retired in 1985 to raise her family. Leah joined the firm in 2007 and works in the area of family law. In her spare time, Leah teaches creative movement and designs and draws house plans.
