Lisabeth Oanes was born in Fargo, North Dakota and grew up in Moorhead, Minnesota. She graduated from Moorhead State University in 1999. In April 2000 she began working in a private practice family law firm in Edina, Minnesota up until joining the Serkland Law Firm in August 2004. Her past activities have included volunteering as a family law facilitator at the Hennepin County Justice Center from May 2002 through July 2004. She also served as a panel member and investigator for the Fourth District Ethics Committee from September 2002 through July 2004.
